Small Objects

nude Loop Troupe figures made by The Small Object

I've been admiring the little faces and lovely items of Sarah Neuburger's online shop, The Small Object, for some time. Her new Loop Troupe collection of wooden guys and gals are simply adorable for their organic, tactile cuteness. How wabi sabi.

"Wabi-sabi is a beauty of things imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete. It is a beauty of things modest and humble. It is a beauty of things unconventional. ... The closest English word to wabi-sabi is probably 'rustic'. ... Things wabi-sabi are unstudied and inevitable looking. .. unpretentious. .. Their craftsmanship may be impossible to discern."

There's a whole network of crafty folk out there making stuff and selling online. Check out boygirlparty.com or If'n Books + Marks for owls, boats and cats. Now to the workshop!

The Royal County Arbiter is very much the wabi-sabi of the occasionally updated internet website about slightly unusual aspects of World (in particular that of Japan) both past and present culture. Gorgeous, immovable, joyful.

Although personally, I just come for the tits and swearing.

I heart you bad Myrtle P.

I can imagine one of those poking out of someone's bum. If they made them with a large turnip like bulb at the base it might prevent C.I.A (curious insertion accidents) and F.B.I (funny bottom incidents)
